Tilda Swinton (born 5th Nov 1960) is a famous British actress, model, and artist who has appeared in a shed load of well known movies and won plenty of awards. Her early career began in the Royal Shakespeare company, and her first movies leaned towards 'art' rather than 'mainstream/popular'. In later years she moved more towards 'mainstream' movies, but has still often played a 'fantastical' character: the Archangel Gabriel in 'Constantine', the 'White Witch' in the Chronicles of Narnia, etc. She won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in the 2007 film Michael Clayton. Has also won the BAFTA Scotland Award for Best Actress for the 2003 film Young Adam, and has received three Golden Globe Award nominations.
