Arthur Ira ‘Art’ Garfunkel (born Nov 5th 1941) is an American singer, poet, and actor, and was part of the greatest folk duo the world has seen - ‘Simon & Garfunkel’. Partnered with Paul Simon the two experienced lots of fame in the 1960s and 1970s with albums like ‘Bridge Over Troubled Water’ and ‘The Sound of Silence’. The two had huge success commercially and critically. They won the Grammy Award for ‘Record of the Year’ and were also mentioned in Rolling Stone’s ‘500 Greatest Albums of All Time’. In total he has won eight Grammy Awards, including the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award. As an actor, he has been nominated for the Golden Globe Award for his supporting role in the comedy drama film ‘Carnal Knowledge’.
